Dennis R. Huntley was born in Washington State in 1925. He had completed four years of high school when he enlisted in the Army at Tacoma, Wash. on January 18, 1943. He joined the 10th Mountain Division while it was engaged in mountain and winter warfare training at Camp Hale, Colo. At various times he was assigned to the 86th Infantry Regiment, 87th Infantry Regiment, Mountain Training Group and 10th Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop.
